East London five piece Tigercats return with new track “Junior Champion” taken from their forthcoming album¬†Mysteries, to be released on Fortuna POP! in January.
Honing their already joyous and infectious sound into something more expansive and sophisticated, “Junior Champion” is a bright, indie dance floor contender punctuated with infectious stabs of brass (courtesy of Terry Edwards of Gallon Drunk and Tindersticks) and flute and featuring new guitarist Paul Rains of Allo Darlin’.

Songwriter Duncan Barrett has carved another pop gem, this time into the shape of bishops, knights, kings and queens – a Bobby Fischer referencing love song and anthem for chess fans everywhere. The video was made in the band’s living room with a fish tank, plenty of fresh fruit and 20 litres of sparkling water from Lidl.

They’ll be playing a series of London shows in September:
3rd – Servant Jazz Quarters, Dalston w/ No Cars
11th – Boogaloo Bar, Highgate, acoustic show w/ Bill Botting
18th – Wild Card Brewery, Walthamstow w/ The Fucks
25th – Tamesis Dock, Vauxhall w/ The Wave Pictures
